About BACWW

Dayspring is a growing fellowship of Christians in south Tyler, committed to being and Building A Church Without Walls. It is easy to say, as we do not have physical walls today, but it speaks even more to the shared mindset in our individual lives and our ministry as a church.

We, the Dayspring community, are the church—living, growing and serving in the world around us. As a church without walls we welcome and accept people as they are. We encourage them to come without walls of pretense. We expect that they will change as part of this body, but we accept that it is God who will work that change. We believe that serving outside ourselves is more important than serving ourselves. And we believe that where they exist, walls should not keep us in, nor keep others out.

Last year, we were blessed to purchase 16 acres of land in what we believe is an incredible mission field, situated in a rich, natural setting in the heart of south Tyler. Building A Church Without Walls means that as we transition from our portable worship site at the Carmike Movie Theaters to this permanent location on Cumberland Road adjacent to Faulkner Park, we will create a physical space that reflects our mindset. With this vision before us, we intend to construct a 15,000 square-foot, multi-purpose facility that will offer:

  • Worship space for 300, and support multiple Sunday and weekday services.
  • A safe, friendly space for our children’s ministry, as we share God’s love with the many children who are part of the Dayspring family.
  • Dedicated space for youth during those formative years of their faith where they can grow, build relationships, fellowship with one another and mature into the Christians God is calling them to become.
  • Freedom for our volunteers from building (and un-building) a portable church, so they will have more time to be the church.

Jeff - HeadshotDuring the next few weeks you will have an exciting opportunity to become part of creating something lasting for our church, for the community at-large and for the generations that will follow us.

We need your commitment to advance what I truly believe is a unique and important ministry in this city. Wherever we go as Dayspring, either individually or together, our mission remains the same: To share the good news that light and peace have come into the world through the Dayspring, Jesus Christ.

I invite you to join Dayspring in Building A Church Without Walls.
